Chocolate Truffle Cake


The one who loves the chocolate flavour will for sure get addicted to chocolate truffle cake. This recipe I used wheat flour instead of maida due to which I used chocolate essence to overcome the wheat smell, you can skip if you are using maida. Here is the recipe for chocolate truffle cake.

Ingredients:
For cake:
Wheat flour - 1cup
Egg - 1
Milk - ¾ cup+ 1 tsp
Melted Butter- ¼ cup
Cocoa powder - ¼ cup
Sugar - ⅔ cup
Baking soda - ⅓ tsp
Baking powder - ½ tsp
Salt - a pinch
Instant coffee powder - ¼ tsp
Chocolate essence- 3 drops

*1cup=120ml

For chocolate truffle:
Chocolate - 6tbsp
Fresh cream - 3tbsp
*2:1 ratio for chocolate and fresh cream

How to prepare chocolate cake:
  • In a bowl add the melted butter, milk, egg and chocolate essence. Mix the coffee powder with 1tsp milk and add them into this bowl. Mix them well and keep aside.
  • Now in a separate bowl sieve and mix the wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add this to the egg mixture and mix well till everything combined well and sugar get dissolve.
  • Grease the cake mould and dust with wheat flour, transfer the cake batter to the mould and tap it twice. In a pan place a stand and keep this cake mould into it.
  • Cook in high flame for 5mins and reduce the flame to low and cook for another 30mins. Once cooked cake will leave the sides also you can check using knife. Allow the cake to cool down completely.
  • Double boil the chocolate by adding chocolate in a bowl and placing it in boiling water. Once chocolate melts add the fresh cream to it and mix well.   • Once the cake reaches the room temperature cut it horizontally into two portions. Spread ganache to the bottom half then place another half portion on top of it and fill with ganache. Chocolate truffle cake is ready
