Masala poori- street food


Masala poori is all time favourite street food for most of the people. Preparing the same at home in similar taste will end up with an amazing experience with delicious taste. This gravy goes well with dosa, chapathi, poori.

Ingredients:
For green peas gravy:
Green peas - 100 gram
Potatoes - 2 medium
Tomato - 3 medium
Onion - 2 medium
Green chilli - 3
Ginger garlic paste - ½ tsp
Chilli powder- ½ tsp
Garam masala powder- ¼ tsp
Coriander powder - ⅓ tsp
Jeera powder - ¼ tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp

How to prepare green peas gravy:
  • Soak green peas for 8hrs. Peel the skin of the potatoes, pessure cook green peas along with potatoes and salt till they become soft. Once pressure got released keep a tbsp of cooked green peas aside and mash the remaining green peas and potatoes.
  • Rough chop tomatoes, onions and 3 green chillies saute them with oil for 2mins. Allow to cool and blend them to fine paste.
  • Add oil in a pan then add the blended mixture and saute well along with ginger garlic paste for 10 mins. Now add chilli powder, cumin power, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt. Saute for a couple of mins.
  • Now add a cup of water in this gravy and let it boil for 10mins.
  • Add all the peas and potatoes mix well, add more water for required consistency and boil for 2-3mins. Gravy is ready.
  • In a serving plate crush the pooris, add the gravy, onions, tomato, sweet chutney and sev. Serve hot.
