Ajwain(Carom)seed
is an Indian spice used for culinary purpose. From 8 months onward you can introduce carom
seed to babies. Always do consult with your pediatrician before introducing new
foods to babies.
Carom
seeds can relieve gas, colic problems, digestive disorder, cures constipation,
relieve from bloating, cold and cough. You can provide Ajwain water to babies
when you introduce new food for first time due to which they will feel better.
For
babies below 1 year start with 1- 2 teaspoon of ajwain water and increase
gradually. Give maximum of 2-3 teaspoon for 2-3 times per week.
Babies
more than 1year can be provided with ¼ cup of ajwain water fir maximum 3-4
times per week.

Ingredients:
Ajwain/Carom seed- ¼ tsp*
Water- ½ cup
Jaggery or Brown Sugar(optional)- ½ tsp

dry roasted seeds

Preparation:
Take
½ cup ajwain seed.
Remove
the mud particles from the seed. Wash and drain the water.
Dry
the seeds in cotton cloth under fan or in sun till it dry completely..
Dry
roast the seed till you get aroma.
How to prepare Ajwain water:
Take
½ cup of water in a saucepan. Add ¼ tsp of roasted seeds and Jaggery or Brown Sugar.
Boil
it for 2-3 mins. Remove from flame let it rest till it reaches room temperature.
Strain
the water and serve to baby.
Notes:
Adults can also consume this water.
