Aval Kesari is an instant Kesari recipe which is very simple compared to Rava Kesari. Also the taste of Poha Sheera is delicious and you will love this and start doing this recipe for most of the festival.

Ingredients:
Poha- 1cup
Sugar- ½ cup
Water- 1cup
Milk- 1cup
Ghee- 3tbsp
Cardamom powder- ¼ tsp
Cashew nuts- 5nos
Raisins- 8nos
Food colour- a pinch (optional)
Salt- a pinch
*1cup=185ml
How to prepare Aval Kesari:
- In a mixer jar add poha and poha powder coarsely.
- Roast the cashew nuts and raisins in a tsp of ghee and set aside.
- In a pan add a tsp of ghee and roast the powdered poha till aromatic.
- Add a cup of water and a cup of milk with the roasted poha powder. Stir it till the poha absorbs all the added water and milk.
- Now add sugar along with food colour and salt, stir till sugar melts and get mixed with poha.
- Finally add roasted cashew and raisins along with 2tbsp ghee mix well till the Kesari leaves the sides of the pan. Poha Sheera is ready to serve.
Tips:
- The quantity of poha and water is 1:2 respectively.
- Here I used 50/50 water and milk. You can also prepare this recipe using 2cups of milk or 2cups of water.
