White Sauce Penne Pasta


White sauce pasta is an Italian origin, here added spices and converted the taste according to Indian style. This is super creamy soft pasta. Try this recipe with  penne pasta, macaroni, rigatoni and fusilli for great taste. You can choose vegetables of your choose like capsicum, sweet corn etc here I used only onion and carrots. Basically white sauce is made with maida(plain flour), but I made it with atta(wheat flour), as we are frying with butter you won't get the wheat flavour while having the pasta. This recipe of  White sauce penne pasta with the ingredients at home.

Ingredients:
To boil pasta:
Penne pasta- 250grams
Water-500ml
Salt-as required
Oil- 1tsp
Vegetables:
Carrot-1 chopped or diced
Onion- 1 chopped or diced
Garlic- 1tbsp finely chopped
Pepper powder- ½ tsp
Salt- as required
Oil- 1tbsp

White sauce:
Butter- 2tbsp
Wheat flour or plain flour- 2tbsp
Milk- 1 ½ cup
Pepper powder- ½ tsp
Chilli flakes- ½ tsp
Oregano- ⅓ tsp
Salt- as required

How to prepare white sauce penne pasta:
  • To cook pasta add water in a pan along with oil, salt. Once water starts to boil add pasta and just cook till it's done. Follow the instructions in the packet.
  • Drain the pasta and keep aside.
  • In a pan add oil and saute garlic, then add the vegetables and saute for a minute. Now add salt and pepper mix well and keep aside.
  • Now to prepare white sauce heat butter in a pan, add the wheat flour and saute in low flame till aromatic. Add half cup of milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps,  then add the remaining milk and cook till it turns thick and creamy, add pepper, chilli flakes, oregano and salt, combine them well.
  • Add the sauted vegetables and boiled pasta, give a nice mix, add some pasta boiled water if the sauce is too thick and combine them. Serve the pasta hot.


Tips:
  • Even if you skip the oregano the taste will be good. Still oregano gives nice flavour.
  • Add grated cheese if required while serving.
