Sprouted Green Gram Laddu - Neiurundai


Sprouted Green Gram Laddu is made with sprouted green gram and ghee which is healthy snacks for toddlers till all age group. This can also called pachai payaru laddu, I was trying to introduce new snacks for my baby, which should be healthy and also she should enjoy. So I gave a try with sprouted green gram, the output was really good and tasty. I thought of sharing the same here.

Ingredients:
Sprouted green gram – 1 cup
Jaggery – ½ cup
Ghee – ¼ cup(1 or 2 tsp more if required)
Cashewnut – few (fried in ghee)
Badam – few (fried in ghee)

*1cup=185ml

How to prepare Sprouted Green Gram Laddu:
  • Dry roast the sprouted green gram in low flame till it changes its colour and turns hard and crisp. It will take 20-30 mins.
  • Allow to cool. Add jaggery, cashewnut, badam in a mixer jar and powder it.
  • In a mixing bowl add the powder along with ghee and mix it well. It should be wet enough to shape them into laddu. Now shape the laddu and serve them.

Tips:
  • Wash and soak the green gram overnight and drain the excess water, allow them to stay in a warm place for 8 hours it will get sprouted.
  • I prepared this for my toddler due to which I powdered all the nuts, you and add as such if preparing for adults.
  • Powdering finely or coarsely depends on your taste.
