Tomato sauce is a frequently used dip for most of
the fast food and snacks. Preparation of tomato sauce at home is an easy and
quick recipe.

Ingredients:
Tomato - 500gram
Sugar - 3tbsp
Chilli powder - 1tsp
Salt – to taste
Vinegar – ¼ cup

How to prepare tomato sauce:
- Rinse the tomato and silt a two inch cross mark on the skin.
- Boil the water and add the tomatoes in it. Cook them for 2-3 mins or till you see the skin start to peel.
- Allow the tomatoes to cool, peel the skin and blend it into smooth puree along with water used for cooking using blender or mixer.
- In a juice strainer, strain the puree to get smooth sauce.
- In a sauce pan add the puree, sugar, chilli powder and salt. Stir it till it starts to thicken. To check the right consistency take a clean plate, take a drop of sauce in the plate and tilt the plate. Now the sauce should move down slowly and should not leave water. Another method is once the sauce starts to thicken it will stick in spatula, now if we run a line on spatula the line will stay as such.
- After getting the right consistency remove from flame and add vinegar. Give a nice mix. Allow to cool and then store the sauce.
Tips:
- Boil onion and garlic while preparing this sauce
which is totally optional. Adding onion and garlic will enhance the flavor and
this will go well as a pizza sauce.
