Pulissery is a Kerala style recipe prepared with curd and coconut. This is a traditional curry server with white rice for function and during Onam.

Ingredients:
Coconut- ½ cup (grated)
Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp
Green chilli- 2
Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
Asafoetida- ⅛ tsp
Garlic- 4 cloves
Thick curd- ½ cup
Salt- as required
To temper:
Coconut oil- 1tbsp
Mustard- ¼ tsp
Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp
Red chilli- 2nos
Curry leaves- 1sprig
How to prepare Pulissery:
- In a mixer jar add coconut, ¼ tsp cumin seeds, green chilli, turmeric powder, garlic and asafoetida.
- Grind them to paste by adding little oil.
- In a pan temper coconut oil along with mustard, cumin seeds, red chilli and curry leaves.
- Add the grounded paste along with salt and add some water, heat the mixture till it becomes foamy and starts to bubble. Remove from flame and bring to room temperature.
- Meanwhile beat the curd without lumps. Once the mixture reaches room temperature mix the curd in it.
- Pulissery is ready to serve with white rice.
Tips:
- You can also soak a tsp of rice and thoor dal for 30mins. Add this while grinding coconut paste.
