Shahi Tukda


Shahi tukda is a royal dessert from mughal’s kitchen. Its rich and creamy royal dessert made with nuts, thicken milk and bread.

Ingredients:
Full fat milk – ½ liter
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp (optional)
Saffron strands – 4-5 strand (optional)
Almonds – 1 tbsp blanched and chopped
Pistachios - 1 tbsp blanched and chopped
For Sugar Syrup(optional):
Sugar – ¼ cup
Water – ¼ cup
For Shahi Tukda:
Bread – 4 slices
Ghee 2 tbsp

How to prepare Shahi Tukda:
  • Refer the link for preparing Rabri.
  • In a pan add water and sugar boil till it get dissolves and the syrup thickens.
  • Cut each bread slices diagonally into 2 pieces. Toast them with ghee on both sides till golden brown.
  • Dip the bread slices in the sugar syrup the help of spoon.
  • Arrange the slices in serving plate, pour the rabri over the bread slices, garnish with nuts and serve immediately.

Tips:
  • You can also add mawa/Khoya while server shahi tukda.
  • This will taste good even without sugar syrup.
