Rava Ladoo with Jaggery(Sooji laddu)

Rava ladoo is one of the simple ladoo recipe which can be prepared with in short period of time. Here I used jaggery instead of sugar which give different taste also grinding the roasted rava along with jaggery will act as a binding agent compared to powdered sugar.

Ingredients:
Sooji/rava/semolina- 1 cup
Jaggery (grated)- 1 cup
Milk (Warm)- For shaping ladoo
Cardamom powder- ¼ tsp
Cashew nut- Few
Raisins- Few
Ghee- 4 tbsp

How to prepare Rava laddu:
  • In a pan fry cashew nut with ghee and set aside. Also fry raisins till the grapes bulge to round, remove it and set aside.
  • Fry the Sooji till the raw smell vanishes and gives nice aroma, allow it to cool.
  • Grind the fried sooji and grated jaggery to slightly coarse powder.
  • Add cardamom powder, fried cashew and raisins along with girnded powder and give a nice mix it.
  • Add warm milk portion by portion and shape it to round ladoos when it is enough warm to get hold in your palm.


Tips:
  • Use medium flame and keep stirring the rava while roasting to avoid burning or brown.
  • If ladoo is loose and not able to hold, means too much of milk has been added. So add some more rava mixture and mix it which will help to hold laddu. Else roast some rava and mix it.
  • If the ladoo mixture is too hard and not able to shape and some more milk and shape it.
