Valaikai poriyal/Raw Banana fry

This is a deep fry version of Raw Banana. Soon I will share another version of Raw Banana fry.  This Valaikai poriyal poriyal is the best combination with curd rice, lemon rice, sambar rice. This recipe learnt from my Grandma.

 Ingredients:
Raw Banana -1nos (large)
Chilli Powder -1tsp
Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – As required
Water - ½ cup
Oil – To fry

How to prepare Valaikai poriyal:
  • Peel the banana skin and slice it to thin round piece. Drop the sliced piece immediately in water to avoid colour change.
  • Now in a pan add ½ cup water, sliced banana, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook this till the water evaporated completely.
  • Allow to cool, separate the slices and now deep fry the slices in batches and serve.

Tips:
  • If you have time after cooking the slices transfer it to plate and separate the slices to dry for 20-30mins under fan or in sun and then fry them. This will reduce the oil getting splitter also masala will get well coated.
