instant chutney is a simple and excellent dip which goes well with idli, dosa,
panniyaram etc. It is an easy recipe to prepare when we are running out of time
and have to find combination for our main dish.

Ingredients:
Garlic
Cloves- 5 large
Small
Onion/Shallot- 1
Chilli
powder- 1 tbsp
Coriander
powder- 2tbsp
Turmeric
powder- a pinch
Hing/Asafoetida-
a pinch
Garam Masala
Powder- ¼ tsp
Jeera
Powder- ¼ tsp
Salt- As
required
Gingelly
Oil- 1/3 cup
How
to prepare Poondu Chutney:
- Peel the skin of Garlic and Small onion. Crush both the Onion and Garlic.
- Mix them with all other ingredients. (Use metal bowl for mixing the ingredients).
- Heat the oil till it become smoky. Pour it on the bowl above the ingredients and give a nice mix with spoon. Garlic and onion will get cooked in the heat from the oil.
- Now serve with idli or dosa. This can be stored in fridge for a week.
